CCM Dominates 2005 AHL Skills Competition

CCM dominated the 2005 AHL All-Star Skills Competition, held in front of 9,916 fans, at a sold-out Verizon Wireless on Sunday night in Manchester, NH. The players who won the hardest shot, fastest skater, accuracy shooting and top goaltender competitions were all using high-performance CCM products.

HARDEST SHOT - BOURQUE USING CCM VECTOR V130
Norfolk Admirals rookie Rene Bourque recorded 99.8 miles an hour on the radar gun to win the CCM Vector Hardest Shot contest.

FASTEST SKATER - PLEKANEC WEARING NEW CCM PRO TACKS
Tomas Plekanec of the Hamilton Bulldogs won the CCM Fastest Skater event with a time of 14.196 seconds.

TOP GOALTENDER - MILLER WEARING CCM GATEKEEPER SERIES
Rochester Americans goaltender Ryan Miller stopped 15 of 19 shots. It was the second straight year that Miller has claimed the Reebok Top Goaltender honor in the AHL's skills competition. Miller shined with eight saves in the Irving Oil Rapid Fire event, two in the Coors Light Pass and Score and five more in the RepeatSeat Breakaway Relay.

ACCURACY SHOOTING - HILBERT PERFECT WITH CCM VECTOR V110
Providence Bruins forward Andy Hilbert recorded the AHL's first-ever perfect accuracy shooting. Hilbert, participating in his third AHL All-Star Classic, needed just four shots to break all four targets in the Dodge Accuracy Shooting event, becoming the first player in the 10-year history of the AHL skills competition to go 4-for-4.
