CCM Minnesota High School Hockey National Invitational Announced Tournament will feature top high school players from four states April 23rd – 25th St. Paul, MN – April 13, 2010 – Minnesota Hockey has announced details for the inaugural CCM Minnesota High School Hockey National Invitational. The round-robin tournament will occur April 23rd – 25th at the Plymouth Ice Center and will feature teams comprised of top high school players from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Michigan. “There will be scouts from several NHL teams and collegiate programs at this tournament, “ said Mike MacMillan, executive director of the Minnesota High School Coaches Association “Many high school players have the potential to play at the next level after their high school career is over and this tournament will give these young men another chance to demonstrate their abilities.” Two teams from Minnesota will compete in the tournament. The Minnesota 18U Selects will feature the top players from the recently concluded Reebok Minnesota Hockey High Performance Advanced 18 Festival. The Minnesota Senior All-Stars will be comprised of the most outstanding players from the 26th annual Ted Brill Great 8 Tournament that occurred March 26th – 28th. “In the past we sent our teams to the Chicago Showcase Tournament to give these players additional exposure” said Barry Ford, Minnesota Hockey Vice President of Hockey Operations. “This tournament affords the same exposure for these players without having to invest the additional time and money to go to Chicago.” As part of the extensive Reebok-CCM partnership with Minnesota Hockey, CCM will be the title partner of the tournament. “Supporting this tournament is a very important piece of our relationship with Minnesota Hockey” said Steve Rixe, Regional Sales Representative for Reebok-CCM Hockey Inc.. “ Everyone at CCM is proud to be part of such an exciting new hockey event in Minnesota.” Admission to the Invitational is $6 for adults and $4 for youth/seniors.
