CCM© Launches The X-Ray™ Series, Hockey’S First-Ever Translucent Helmets Montreal, Quebec, June 21, 2001 ... The CCM brand of The Hockey Company - a world leader in hockey equipment and related apparel - continues to remove itself from the mass of clutter in the hockey equipment category with the introduction of the X-Ray™ Series, hockey's first-ever translucent helmets. The X-Ray™ Series provides casual hockey players in the street or on the ice with the most stylish look ever created in hockey helmets, while outfitting the serious player with the most advanced protection and comfort features in the category. The X-Ray™ Series gives the young hockey players of Generation Y a sleek and futuristic look as they play on ice hockey or roller hockey skates. Offered in translucent red, blue, electric green and black colors, these helmets will have everyone at the rink or on the street taking notice. In addition, the aerodynamic shape provides the excellent airflow and ventilation required in today's fast paced game. The X-Ray™ Series will be offered in two helmet shell models, the CCM HT500 X-Ray™ and the CCM HT10 X-Ray™. The HT500 X-Ray™ is designed with the same features and benefits as CCM's critically acclaimed pro-level hockey helmet, the HT500. By incorporating its exclusive Form Intensive Technology (F-I-T-) System™ philosophy into the HT500 X-Ray™, CCM has maximized the helmet's comfort level while maintaining a high level of protection. The HT500 X-Ray™ features CCM's Impact Management System™ for optimal protection, the innovative Pro-Lok™ System to help limit forward and backward helmet rotation during collisions, and a quick and convenient tool-less adjustment feature that allows players to change the fit of their helmets with ease. The HT10 X-Ray™ features the same shell design as CCM's popular HT2 helmet. The HK500 and HK10 X-Ray™ helmets are equipped with CCM's new FM480 facemask. The FM480 features a new chrome design that gives the HK500 and HK10 X-Ray™ an even more unique and futuristic look, as well as a floating chin cup for a customized fit. CSA, HECC and CE approved, the X-Ray™ Series will be available at sporting goods stores and hockey specialty shops beginning in October 2001. |
